Flashback: 1956: Isamu Noguchi's Rocking Stool

. Sunday, August 23, 2009

Most of these photos are from 1956 for Knoll advertising. The portrait of a young Isamu Noguchi is from 9 years earlier in 1947.

The African stool also shown bears remarkable resemblance to the Eames' Time Life Stool, which came later in 1960. The Eames' design was based on an African stool used in their home, so it's very likely this stool was borrowed from them.
