The online portfolio of photographer Richard Powers features a wealth of 20th Century modernism. Some of my favorite photos include: the dining room with the monumental double pedestal Eero Saarinen Tulip table (a variant of which I have never seen before); the white living room with the pair of Eero Aarnio Ball chairs; and the dining room featuring Carlo di Carli chairs along with a pair of T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings Klismos chairs flanking a credenza (which happens to be from the home of Bob Richardson).
From an interview with Architectural Digest (Germany):
Are you specializing in one or two themes (for example in architecture and interior)? Why? Or: Why not?
I started out shooting everything in sight but now I am more specialised - as I grow into my career I find myself shooting predominately interiors and architecture .. it has been a natural progression. Why ? To photograph something well you need to have a passion for the subject - i would have made a terrible fashion photographer!
