Fresh Finds: Ole Wanscher + Gino Sarfatti

. Monday, March 1, 2010

Ole Wanscher's 1951 rocking chair for France & Søn, sculpted from solid teak.

"....representative of the Danish tradition of fine furniture. The knockdown construction of the rocking chair allows the seat and frame to be taken apart for transport. The comfortable, organic curves of the arms and back demonstrate the extent to which this chair was designed to accomodate the human body." (From Danish Chairs, Oda, pg. 70)

A Italian Modernist table lamp with dual enameled domes: one as base, one as shade. Attributed to Gino Sarfatti, as similar enameled domes appear throughout his oeuvre.

Both via Modern Love.
