Spaces: Sylvester Koziolek Residence: Berlin

. Thursday, November 11, 2010

The home of Berlin-based set designer Sylvester Koziolek. With nearly every surface in black, Koziolek sets a deep and dramatic stage, with his impressive international collection of 20th Century design seemingly rising from the darkness.

Included in his collection are lounge chair and sofa by Marco Zanuso; an adjustable chaise by Osvaldo Borsani; chairs by Ilmari Tapiovaara, Charlotte Perriand, Charles and Ray Eames, and Franco Albini; tables by Hans Bellman, George Nelson, Carl Aubock, and Mario Bellini; and lighting by Boris Lacroix, Venini, and Arne Jacobsen.

Love that burnt orange chair in the middle of all of the darkness.

I don't feel so much impressed. This is only famous iconic design pieces placed side by side. Where is the original part in that ? The color of the walls may be, but I'm not even sure since it's a too simple trick.
