Favorite Picks: Wright: Important Design

. Saturday, December 10, 2011

Some of the best auctions of the season are approaching, bringing with it some of the most important works of 20th Century Design to the market.

December 15th is Wright's upcoming Important Design auction. These are my favorite picks:

A Jean Prouvé conference chair, model 355.

A Charlotte Perriand Bloc cabinet.

Beautiful 2-tone chairs and dining table from by Gio Ponti for Villa Arreaza.

Brass and glass table lamps by Pietro Chiesa.

Pure 70s glam, an incredible expanding brass coffee table by Gabriella Crespi.

Seemingly related biomorphic coffee tables, one American by Greta Grossman, the other Italian by Carlo Mollino.

More 70s glam with a coffee table by Willy Daro in onyx, quartz, and etched brass.

Klismos chairs by Jorgen Juul-Moller.

Sculptural and elegant mahogany dining chairs by an unknown designer, selected by Samuel Marx for  Peggy and Lionel Nathan's Highland Park residence.

Mirrors both by Samuel Marx.

The auction takes place December 15th, see the full preview at Wright.
