Coming soon on October 18th is Wright's bi-annual Modern Design auction, featuring an impressive collection of artifacts from the 20th Century's best known desingers. These are my favorite picks:
A sculpted double-sided secretary in Italian walnut by Gio Ponti.
A DeSede 600 Organic Sofa by Ueli Berger, Eleanora Peduzzi-Riva and Heinz Ulrich.
A Cloud wall shelf by Wendell Castle.
A rare special order 2-tone LCW chair by Charles + Ray Eames.
An important early teapot by Harry Bertoia. The consignor was a student of Harry Bertoia, and received this teapot from Bertoia as a wedding gift. It has remained in their collection since.
A pair of beautiful walnut tables by Phillip Lloyd Powell.
The judge's chair from the High Court of Chandigarh, by Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret.
An Antony daybed by Jean Prouve
Two giant onyx obelisks by Karl Springer.
A lounge chair and ottoman by T.H. Robsjohn-Gibbings.
A rare settee by Finn Juhl.
A collection of over 300 Ceasar Stoffi candleholders.
A collection of 4 Angelo Lelli table lamps for Arredoluce.
