Spaces: House Braem: Antwerp

. Monday, May 3, 2010

An amazing and uniquely shaped modernist home freshly added to the Office for Word and Image gallery.  The project details have not been posted yet, but with a little research I've discovered that it was built in 1955 and was designed by the Belgian architect Renaat Braem as his personal residence.

Furnishings include classics by Poul Kjaerholm and Arne Jacobsen.  The patchwork rug, which repurposes a variety of old afghans, is a very cool and interesting piece.
