Also featuring leather Oxford chairs and a 3107 task chair both by Arne Jacobsen. Lighting is by Christian Dell, Poul Henningsen, Jieldé, Michele De Lucchi and Giancarlo Fassina.

Spaces: MR Architecture + Decor: Residence 29, One Jackson Square

Residence 29, designed by David Mann of MR Architecture + Decor, is a luxurious modernist home located inside New York's One Jackson Square. A nice selection of 20th Century modernist classics furnish the home, including an Osvaldo Borsani P40 lounge chair, a Mathieu Matégot bar cart, a Serge Mouille 3 arm lamp, an Angelo Mangiarotti marble dining table, a Paul Evans CityScape coffee table with an ultrachic Pierre Folie stainless steel lounge chair,
Eric Buck barstools, an Eames management chair in front of a Poul Cadovius wall unit, and an Edward Wormley magazine rack.

My favorite element in this space is the folding bike, wall-mounted so perfectly to almost appear as sculpture.

Classic Spaces: Kjærholm Residence: Rungsted Kyst, Denmark

Renowned Copenhagen-born, New York-based photographer Ditte Isager, gives us a rare glimpse into the home of design legends Hanne and Poul Kjærholm.

There is also a great story by the New York Times on one of Hanne Kjærholm's last designs, a vanity box named Renée.

Fresh Finds: Rare Jens Risom Lazy-Susan Rotating Coffee Table + More

By Jens Risom, a rare model designed in 1958.  This ingenious coffee table features solid walnut construction and a lazy-susan revolving top, perfect for entertaining. A knurled and threaded knob hidden on the top of one leg acts as a brake.

The top rotates smoothly on a Seng Chicago ball-bearing swivel, which were also utilized by the Eames on their dowel-swivel based chairs.



A fine modernist armchair featuring a solid walnut frame and floating concave seat panels, upholstered for seating comfort. Aesthetically reminiscent of works by Jens Risom and George Nelson + Associates. Not signed, designer and manufacturer are unknown.




Jens Quistgaard's cast iron candleholders are dynamic sculptural objects, and represent the best of Scandinavian artistry and craftsmanship. This model is called
the Starcluster and features a sculptural ring of teardrop shaped pods.

Creative Spaces: 8 Great Workspaces

Judging from this photographic essay by rumID, Eames Design seems to be a staple in any great modernist workspace. My favorite vignette however, is the first, with the orange and ash Bodil Kjær desk, paired with a rolling desk chair by Fabricius + Kastholm, and finished with red Sunburst clock by George Nelson + Associates resting as sculpture on the tabletop.
