An amazing space by Chicago's Studio Gang.
"The design for Maisonette transforms a former ballroom of the Ambassador West Hotel into a modern apartment. Two ascending platforms linked by a narrow passerelle expand the ballroom space to the second floor, where additional bedrooms are located. A large void cut away from the second floor slab creates a dramatic vertical space in the center of the apartment. The void establishes visual connections between the living levels, office-platform, game-platform and passerelle, dematerializing the traditional boundaries that characterize domestic space."
Complimenting the interior is an impressive vintage modernist furniture collection including: Roland Rainer plywood stacking chairs surrounding a black Eero Saarinen Tulip dining table, a brass Arredoluce Triennale floor lamp, a Paolo Piva 'Alanda' coffee table, and a round upholstered lounge chair by Ico + Louisa Parisi (I think, not sure).

"There's nothing groundbreaking about the vintage-inspired wares of LA based design duo Wildfox Couture. For one their highly wearable collections focus on wardrobe staples such as tees, singlets, cardigans, hoodiess, leggings, jeans and shorts. Nothing new - we know. What we do find irresistible however, is the playful aesthetic approach of childhood friends Emily Faulstich and Kimberley Gordon. The duo cater to a very specific segment of the female population and a grossly unspecific segment of the male one by combining Summery festival garb, uber-feminine streetwear and a coquettish wink that'll charm most. Oh and they have the hottest lookbooks in the business.
Much like their salacious Fall 09 lookbook, Wildfox's Spring 2010 collection "Young Guns" takes cues from the American Apparel school of advertising and presents a bevy of bright young things pouting, slinking and cavorting in various states of undress. It's a manipulative M.O but the boldly coloured collection is so tongue-in-cheek, mischievous and unashamedly fun we'll happily play along."

Most of these photos are from 1956 for Knoll advertising. The portrait of a young Isamu Noguchi is from 9 years earlier in 1947.
The African stool also shown bears remarkable resemblance to the Eames' Time Life Stool, which came later in 1960. The Eames' design was based on an African stool used in their home, so it's very likely this stool was borrowed from them.
